Make time for the changing shoreline.
The water is part of everyday life in Burrum Heads. Whether you are planning a shoreline walk, a fishing trip or a day with the boat, check the tide information for the place and date you intend to visit. This page is a planning guide, with links to official information rather than a tide chart that can fall out of date.
Where to find current tide information
Maritime Safety Queensland publishes the Queensland Tide Tables and supplementary tide predictions. Start with the current year, choose the relevant location and follow the guidance supplied with the tables. Burrum Heads is included in the Queensland tide information. Do not assume a nearby town's high or low tide applies unchanged to your launch point or stretch of river.
Check the weather as well
A tide prediction is only one part of planning time on the water. Check the Bureau of Meteorology Hervey Bay Waters forecast and current warnings for the area you plan to use. For a booked trip, confirm the meeting point and conditions with the operator. Our weather guide also links to the Burrum Heads forecast.
Choose a base for your stay
The Oceanfront Units have direct beach access at 56 Esplanade and a shared heated waterfront pool. Sunset Waters is a separate riverfront house for up to six guests, with a private heated pool. Both offer a place to return to when the day's plans are done.
Boat and jetski parking is advertised at the properties. If you are bringing a trailer, ask Balmy Breaks about the space and access you need before booking. Make a separate plan for launching and storing your equipment during the stay. For local outing ideas, browse the Coast; to plan your accommodation, check availability.
