At a glance
The Burrum Heads shoreline is part of the village’s appeal: beach, river-mouth views and a coastal setting that changes with the tide. It is a place for an unhurried walk or a pause beside the water, rather than a fixed list of activities to complete.
A beach day at the village
Burrum Heads is where the Burrum River meets the sea, as the regional tourism guide explains. Make time to watch the water and look at the coastline before deciding how far to walk. The exposed shoreline and usable sand vary with the tide, so the same stretch can feel quite different on another day.
Keep plans flexible if your group includes young children or anyone who prefers a shorter outing. Take water and sun protection, and choose a public access point that suits the people with you.
Choosing where to stay
Salt & Stone’s Oceanfront Units have direct beach access at 56 Esplanade. Sunset Waters is a separate riverfront house, so it offers a different waterfront setting. Before entering the water, check the signs, local conditions and any current warnings; a quiet-looking beach is not a guarantee of safe swimming.
