An easy day on land
Start with a foreshore walk and leave time for a café or lunch. Urangan Pier is one of Hervey Bay’s best-known landmarks; the Esplanade also connects several coastal neighbourhoods. Choose a manageable stretch rather than trying to fit every stop into one outing.
For families or mixed groups, agree on a main activity and a comfortable meeting place. Check individual venues for opening days, bookings and access needs rather than relying on old listing information.
If you are joining a tour
Hervey Bay is a departure point for whale watching and other marine experiences, with K’gari and reef excursions requiring their own arrangements. A tour booking may use a marina, airport or mainland ferry departure point; read the exact meeting instructions.
Allow for the drive from Burrum Heads, parking and check-in, then leave your return evening relaxed. Your Burrum Heads accommodation gives you a separate place to come back to after a day out; tour transfers are not automatically included.
