At a glance

Burrum Heads Recreation Reserve is a council park at 203–221 Burrum Heads Road. Tennis courts, a half basketball court, a barbecue, picnic shelter, seating and toilets make it an option for time outdoors away from the immediate beachfront.

A change from the beach

This reserve suits a different kind of holiday pause: bring a ball or a picnic and give everyone room to do something active. Decide what you want to use before leaving your accommodation so you can bring the right equipment and avoid making a separate trip back.

The council facility list is the useful starting point. It does not mean that a court is reserved for you or that an organised activity is running when you arrive. Check with council if your plans depend on exclusive use, an event or a group booking.

Fit it around your stay

Use the council’s mapped location for directions; do not treat this as a riverfront launch or a beach-access point. Keep the visit flexible around the weather and the needs of younger or older travellers. For another day, the Esplanade foreshore offers a coastal setting, while the Toogoom trails are a separate riding destination. Leave shared facilities clean and ready for the next visitors.
